lol I heard that preperation H works. Quite disturbing and gross... but I tried it once and it actually worked a little. Also, a lot of sleep, obviously. Vitamins. Cold spoons (the hickey remedy). Concealer, which doesn't rid them, but helps disguise them. If you find anything that works wonders, let me know!!

Pink Eye Home Remedy

Pink Eye Home Remedies and Treatment Tips

Conjunctivitis, commonly known as pinkeye, is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids. Conjunctivitis can be caused by infections (such as bacteria and viruses), allergies, or substances that irritate the eyes. Pinkeye can be caused by many of the bacteria and viruses responsible for colds and other infections, — including ear infections, sinus infections, and sore throats — and by the same types of bacteria that cause the sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) chlamydia and gonorrhea. Pinkeye also can be caused by allergies. These cases tend to happen more frequently among kids who also have other allergic conditions, such as hay fever. Some triggers of allergic conjunctivitis include grass, ragweed pollen, animal dander, and dust mites.

Viral Conjunctivitis or contagious pink eye is usually caused by viruses that spread from other different ailments like colds, sore throats, respiratory infections and others. Bacterial Conjunctivitis is caused by certain types of bacteria that have made their way to the eye. Common bacteria include staphylococci and streptococci. Allergic Conjunctivitis is caused by allergic reactions to different substances such as fumes, cosmetics, medication, and many others. Pink eye usually effects people who have allergic conditions.Newborns are particularly susceptible to pinkeye and can be more prone to serious health complications

Sometimes a substance in the environment can irritate the eyes and cause pinkeye; for example, chemicals (such as chlorine and soaps) and air pollutants (such as smoke and fumes).Redness, irritation and watering of the eyes are symptoms common to all forms of conjunctivitis. Itch is variable. Acute allergic conjunctivitis is typically itchy, sometimes distressingly so, and the patient often complains of some lid swelling. Chronic allergy often causes just itch or irritation, and often much frustration because the absence of redness or discharge can lead to accusations of hypochondria.

Home Remedies and Treatment Tips of Pink Eye

1.You can make herbal eyewashes by using 1 tsp dried eyebright herb steeped in 1 pint of boiling water. Cool and strain this liquid and use it as eyewash.

2.Avoid swimming in chlorinated water.

3.You can make warm compress by using chamomile, lavender or rose oil for conjunctivitis.

4.Soak aloe vera juice in a cloth to be placed over your eyes to soothe them. Aloe vera juice can be used as eyewash by following similar procedure.

5.To reduce inflammation and itchiness you can keep cold bread over your eyes.

6.Make an elderberry blossom tea and use it as eyewash, to soothe your eyes.

7.Use artificial tears to moisten your eyes, to flush out the foreign body.

8.You can put honey directly in your eyes or make honey eyewash by using three tablespoons of honey in two cups of boiling water.

9.Pink eye(conjunctivitis) fill a glass jar with distilled water and in that add 7-8 Jasmine flowers. Cover it with a lid and leave it overnight. The next morning pour drops of water in your eyes with the jasmine flower. Keep repeating till your eyes get soaked. Do this at least three times a day to notice the difference.

10. Do not touch your eyes when you are gardening or cooking.

11. You should protect your eyes from air pollution and dust.

12. You should wear sunglasses before going outside.

13. Take a cup of water. Dissolve 2-3 granules of alum in it. Use as an eyewash.

14.Slit an aloe leaf lengthwise and place the pulpy side on the sore eye.

Question...

Anyone know a quick home-made pink eye remedy?

I got pink eye two weeks ago, and albeit using hot compresses, wiping away from the eye, keeping it clean, no contacts etc., my pink eye has gotten worse. I have thick green goop in my eyes and milky film over the pupil and iris. My eyes are kind of purply when I wake up, but turn more pink towards the end of the day. I cant make a doctors appt. at the moment, so does anyone know a good, healthy, home remedy that can work quick? Anything would be great. Thanks :)

Mix baby shampoo with water and clean your eyes with that.

Answer by Farawyn
Here are a few home remedies:

Colloidal Silver -- Put two drops of colloidal silver in your eyes two or three times a day. Colloidal silver has been known to cure pink eye as quickly as six hours. You have had your pink eye for some time so it will take longer. Be sure to use a few days after healing to be safe.

Castor Oil -- Put one to two drops in your eyes two times each day. Your eyes will get better within one day but you should keep using it for a few more days to make sure it is completely gone. Your eyes will get blurry from the oil but it does not sting or hurt and in fact can be soothing.

Lemon Juice -- Take an eye dropper and put one to two drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice in the infected eye. This will sting and hurt some but is well known to cause immediate improvement if you are looking for a really fast cure.

Sea Salt -- Put a teaspoon of sea salt in one cup warm water and stir until dissolved. You can ether drop the saline solution you have created directly into your eye or use a cotton ball and get it really wet and put on your eye allowing the water to run into your eye. This is a tried and true remedy used in England.

Hope these are helpful and good luck.

Circles Bags Under Eyes

3 Proven Tips to Remove Dark Circles & Bags Under Eyes

Do you have dark circles under your eyes? Puffy, baggy eyes?  Hopefully you don't have all three. I'm going to show you 3 ways that work.  Do all 3 tips and you will get a new, younger look. How to get rid of either puffy or baggy eyes and even dark circles is pretty much the same.

Tip 1.  Get to Bed on Time

Dark circles under eyes develop with lack of sleep.  If you stay up most of the night, don't be surprised if you have dark circles and baggy eyes.  Develop the habit of getting plenty of rest, 6-8 hours EVERY night, not just weekends.  But you say you have puffy eyes.  Well, if you are getting a little older, and who isn't, that could be from something else. Like what? Keep reading, please.

Tip 2.  Drink Clean, Purified Water

Yes, I know you've heard it before.  Drink 8  glasses of water each day.  The good news is you can count the fruit and veggie juices also.  Just stay hydrated because puffy eyes come from excess fluid under the eyes.  Drinking good clean water, not tap water, flushes out the toxin waste under your eyes causing puffiness.  Don't just drink any water. Tap water -  much of it has some sort of contamination.  Filtered water is the best insurance.

One more thing about puffy eyes and dark circles is that as we get older some of the problem could be from capillary damage.  The skin under the eyes is thinner than most other skin so is vulnerable.  Capillaries have difficulty transporting the fluids around the eyes, therefore puffiness. But there is a solution to that problem.

Tip 3.  Use an Eye Gel That Works and is Safe

The skin under the eye is very thin as compared to the face, so it needs special care.  To increase the thickness of eye skin, it has been found that two things are important.  1. Peptides or protein fragments can promote the making of skin and fibers.  2.  Antioxidants fight free radicals that cause damage to our body and of course the eye skin.  The best type of antioxidants come from plants.  Plant based antioxidants will help improve blood circulation and reduce those dark circles.

Peptides, protein fragments, help make new fibers and skin cells.  This will increase the thickness of the skin under the eyes. A good eye gel that really works will have antioxidants that are plant based.  This will help those capillaries have better health because circulation will get better.  This reduces dark circles.

The eye gels or creams that have plant antioxidants showed by one research study to have a 65% reduction in baggy eyes.  62% had reduced crow's feet and wrinkles under the eyes.  60% showed that dark circles were gone.  Wouldn't you like to know which company has such a miracle skin product?  See author box. Keep reading please.

Here's What I Suggest You Do

Depending on your general health condition and the reasons for hindrances to your appearance, follow the 3 tipps suggested above: Get some Regular Sleep; Drink Plenty of Purified Water and Use an Eye Gel that is safe and natural.  If you do these things, according to clinical studies, you should get rid of dark circles and puffy eyes in less than two month on the average.  However, using the wrong eye gel can make your appearance worsen.

Avoid Bad Ingredients

If you stay up all night and drink bad water and use some over the counter department store skin care product than don't expect any changes except for the worse.  AVOID any skin care product that has mineral oil, petrolatum, fragrances, parabens and synthetic preservatives.

In Conclusion:   Get to Bed and Go to Sleep regularly, 6-8 hours every night; Drink Clean Water every day 6-8 glasses, and please avoid the bad ingredients in skin care.  If you use the eye gel I use you would be making a smart move. Your mirror will be happier. For more information on an eye gel that really works, please see my website listed below.  Thanks, Margaret Bell

Question...

Will my undereye circles/bags under eyes go away after I get my allergies treated?

I've had these dark circles/bags under my eyes for several months now. My eyes have been watering and itchy from my cats. I'm wondering if I get the allergy treated if they will go away, or are they permanent?

Also, has holistic treatment helped anyone? I'm going to take yerba mate tea and other stuff, and make sure I clean and vacuum frequently and I just purchased a HEPA allergy air filter.

Thanks!

Earthling: Those dark circles are commonly called "allergic shiners". They are a result of increased blood flow to to sinus region. This is happening because of your allergies. Once you get your allergic reactions under control, the shiners will disappear. Keep that HEPA filter running 24/7 to keep the airborne stuff down. Make sure you do all the cleaning early in the day and then stay out for at least 2 hours to let everything settle back down. Most of what you and I call cleaning is really just throwing things up in the air on a microscopic level. If you allergy is to the cat and not dust or dust mites, you can try rubbing Allerpet/C solution on the cat.
I love Yerba Mate tea and usually drink it late in the afternoon as a pick me up. (I'm drinking a cup now). It is a great source of caffeine and a bit of a diuretic, but it is NOT going to help those allergies. I am including a link to the Allerpet site and you can find someone in your area that sells it. Good luck with kitty and those allergies and enjoy that yerba mate!

Answer by dizzzybubble
I think if you get your allergies sorted out your circles will go away. You may want to consider if you are eating anything to which you are allergic, for example milk.

With regard to the cats you could get a sofa with removable covers that are washable. You could also wash the walls in your home, which harbour a surprising amount of pet dust. I don't think your cats would be happy having anything rubbed on them!

You might want to clean any mould in your home on window frames etc as some people have a sensitive reaction to even small amounts of it. Also open your doors and windows to get some air through, making sure that kitty and kitty are safe from the road!
Good luck.

Under Eye Lines

Blitz Those Deep Eye Wrinkles ? Non-Surgical Methods for Reducing Eye Lines

If eyes are the windows to the soul, what do your deep eye wrinkles say about you? Well, they might be saying that you're a deep thinker and very wise! But seriously, if you are concerned about wrinkling around the eyes or deep forehead wrinkles, there are steps you can take that won't cost the earth or subject you to expensive surgery.

First of all, you need to think about what has caused the deep eye wrinkles in the first place.

If you are quite young, there are probably two main causes of your problem.

It could be genetic – many people find that numerous members of their families have had a similar problem and often at the same age. There isn't a great deal you can do about that except maintain a good diet, don't smoke, use a quality moisturizer and a sunscreen to minimize any further damage.

But sometimes it's because young people don't bother to use any moisturizers or skin care products until they suddenly find a problem. Deep eye wrinkles can be the first sign that a poor diet, stress, late nights and too much sun are starting to take their toll.

If you are older, genetics might still play a part in making you more susceptible to wrinkling but it's probably a combination of the ravages of time, stress and everything that's happened to you over the years – not to mention diet, sun and smoking!

So what to do?

If you're really worried or paranoid about your appearance, cosmetic surgery or Botox injections might be all that give you peace of mind. But you'll have to weigh up possible health and safety issues with those rather drastic methods (not to mention the cost).

Instead, you could try high quality natural skin creams that have ingredients that can actually replenish the collagen and elastin in your skin. Collagen and elastin are the proteins that hold your skin together, keeping it taut, firm and smooth looking. As we age, and as we consume poor foods and expose ourselves to the sun, the collagen and elastin break down. But if we encourage the body to regrow its own collagen and elastin, we can reduce those deep eye wrinkles considerably.

But most importantly, relax and don't worry about it – the chances are you notice it more than other people anyway! And the more you relax, eat well and get enough sleep, the better your overall complexion will be and the less your deep eye wrinkles will be noticeable.

If you would like more information about natural skin care moisturizers and lotions and about the products I use myself, please visit my website today.

Question...

What hair color is best at hiding under eye lines?

I feel like experimenting with hair colors. I'm pale with naturally dirty blonde hair. The problem is I have under eye lines. I was wondering what would be the best color hair to make them less obvious? (as opposed to other colors)??

Answer by killerpanda81
first i'd try an eye cream then go for the hair color. I"d have highlights put in personally, that would draw attention away from your eyes.
